Some older coaches have been slow to join Twitter, while younger coaches use it constantly to communicate, praise fans or just check on their players.
South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier is now on Twitter, but it evidently deleted his first tweet.

Spurrier will turn 70 on April 20 and is the oldest of the SEC’s coaches. Nick Saban is 63 (he doesn’t have an account) and Gary Pinkel (@GaryPinkel) will turn 63 in April.
Can he limit himself to 140 characters? That remains to be seen.
