So much for Georgia’s Greg McGarity.
Former UGA defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, who is heading into his second season at Louisville, where he has a $1.3 million a year deal, said athletic director Todd Jurich “is the best in the country. He’s the best I’ve ever been around,” in a video on Louisville’s athletic program website.
He said Jurich and the fact that he works “for a great university” and coach Bobby Petrino “is a proven winner” are reasons why he turned down the Oakland Raiders’ offer to coordinate their defense.
“We have the things here, structurally, to reach all the goals we want as a program,” Grantham said.
UGA fans probably weren’t sad to see Grantham leave Athens, but his words still must sting a little.
Here’s the entire video, which is less than 4 minutes long.
