Kentucky loses to UGA in ‘Pool Day’

In an obvious attempt to emulate the great Mark Richt, the Kentucky Wildcats football team has taken the diving board to task.

Take a look at all these sick highlights from “Pool Day”:

Just like on the football field, the Wildcats couldn’t match the Dawgs. Richt jumped off the high dive, while Kentucky’s players jumped off the kiddie board.

How can anyone watch this and not get super excited about Kentucky football?

This team showed flashes of potential last year, starting 5-1 including a win over the legendary Steve Spurrier’s South Carolina Gamecocks. The Wildcats’ lone loss in that stretch was an overtime defeat to perennial conference power Florida – a game they should have won.

Who knows, maybe this year they’ll win the SEC East on the way to a major bowl appearance. That’s the bold prediction here, anyway.

The fun begins Sept. 5 when they host Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns. On Nov. 5, they’ll push Pool Day 2015 aside and head to Athens when they play the Bulldogs.

Watch them shake up the conference with an easy win. At that point, given Kentucky’s dominant basketball program, Georgia will have no bragging rights over the Wildcats.
