The Gators are still in the mix for transferring USC quarterback Ricky Town.

According to a report from 247Sports, Town has received his release from the Trojans with standard restrictions. The good news for Florida is that those restrictions don’t involve the Gators.

The report states that Town is prohibited from transferring to any Pac-12 school or any of USC’s future opponents through 2019-2020. Alabama is included on that no no list, as it takes on the Trojans in 2016.

That takes off one realistic option for Town, who was verbally committed to the Crimson Tide before signing with USC.

Town will have to sit out a season wherever he ends up due to NCAA transfer rules.
