On Friday, Tennessee true freshman receiver Jauan Jennings was dunked on by Vols DB coach Willie Martinez.
Turns out Jennings is the one who slam-dunked a starting spot in the Vols rotation.
Tennessee’s official website released the Vols’ depth chart for their season-opener against Bowling Green, and Jennings is listed as the starter at wideout.
Jennings wasted no time making his presence known to coach Butch Jones and that he intended on playing immediately. Now it’s clear that Jennings’ offseason performance has separated him from the rest of the Vols receiving corps.
Vols fans have to be excited with this development, as it speaks to the athletic abilities of Jennings. Coming in to the Vols program, he was one of the country’s top-ranked quarterbacks.
Jennings entered the program, did what he had to do, and now he’s the starter.
Would he prefer to be the quarterback? We may never know.
On another note, Vols fans should become familiar with the name Colton Jumper. He’s a walk-on sophomore who plugged himself into the starting middle linebacker spot.
