Les Miles had a small scare on Monday morning after being admitted to a Baton Rouge, La., hospital. But not scary enough to keep LSU’s coach from cracking a few jokes about the excessive amount of coffee he drank.
“Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated,” Miles jokingly told reporters quoting Mark Twain.
Miles drank too much coffee after trying to work it back into his diet. The coach then told reporters, “I don’t get along with coffee,” according to the Advocate.com’s Ross Dellenger.
Miles drove himself to the hospital and returned to LSU’s athletic complex at around 2 p.m. according to the Advocate.com.
“I just want everybody to know everything’s fine,” Miles told reporters. “And I’m ready to roll.”
Miles might want to hold off on the coffee for the next five months until the season ends.
The Tigers open their season against McNeese State this Saturday. Maybe Miles should just stick to orange juice in the morning, instead.
