South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch suffered a hip pointer injury during Thursday’s game against North Carolina and is still feeling the effects.

Speaking with reporters via teleconference on Sunday, coach Steve Spurrier said that Mitch will not practice on Monday, but should be ready to go against Kentucky, according to TheState.com’s David Cloninger.

Mitch went 9 for 22 with 122 yards and a touchdown in the Gamecocks’ 17-13 win over the Tar Heels on Thursday, but left the game in the fourth quarter after taking a sack from UNC’s Dajaun Drennon. He was replaced by redshirt junior Perry Orth who pushed Mitch for the starting role in the Gamecocks’ quarterback competition during preseason camp.
