Tennessee’s run game played a huge role in its season-opening victory over Bowling Green.

The Volunteers posted a 59-30 win thanks in large part to 399 rushing yards on the ground – including 144 from Alvin Kamara and 123 from Jalen Hurd. The duo combined for five rushing touchdowns.

The Vols’ accomplishments in the run game didn’t happen by accident, as demonstrated by a Tennessee football-produced video.

The video provides a candid look at how running backs coach Robert Gillespie prepared his unit for the season opener. Both Kamara and Hurd are featured prominently in the video, as they were in the opener.

Expect the two running backs to continue to play a significant role in the Tennessee offense this week when the No. 25 Vols take on No. 19 Oklahoma at Neyland Stadium before a sellout crowd.

This week’s game is the Vols’ first this season at Neyland Stadium.
