AP Poll Week 2: Record 10 SEC teams land in AP Top 25

The new AP Top 25 Poll was released on Tuesday, and a record 10 SEC teams were selected in the Top 25.

Ohio State remained the top team in the nation, but Alabama moved into the No. 2 spot following the team’s 35-17 win over then-No. 20 Wisconsin. Notre Dame entered the Top 10 at No. 9, moving UGA to No. 10 and Florida State to No. 11. Georgia Tech also came in as the No. 15 team in the nation.

The SEC was also represented by No. 6 Auburn, No. 14 LSU, No. 16 Texas A&M, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 21 Missouri, No. 23 Tennessee and No. 25 Mississippi State.

Both Texas A&M and Mississippi State were not ranked in the top 25 in the AP’s preseason rankings.
