LSU coach Les Miles had some great news for LSU fans regarding safety Jalen Mills’ injury rehab during his radio show on Wednesday.
“His progression is happening extremely fast,” Miles said according to TheAdvocate.com’s Marcus Rodrigue. “Utility is there. He’s way ahead of the curve.”
The preseason All-SEC safety suffered a fractured fibula early in summer camp and has been sidelined ever since, but is recovering at a good rate, according to Miles.
Miles gave no timetable for when his stud defensive back would return, but did say he was in good spirits.
“He has a smile on his face, and that’s what makes me happy,” Miles said, according to Rodrigue. “That’s what I needed to see.”
The defense’s most experienced player has started 39 games since his freshman year and will be sorely missed with each week he stays off the field.
LSU has a monumental task ahead when they face All-SEC quarterback Dak Prescott, receiver De’Runnya Wilson and the Mississippi State Bulldogs this Saturday.
