Georgia’s Todd Gurley among Heisman favorites

You can find odds on everything these days, even how long Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kanye West will last.

So it’s no surprise that Heisman Trophy odds are already listed, nearly two months before the start of the season.

The favorite, according to Las Vegas sportsbook Bovada is the young man who walked away with the 25-pound bronze man last year — FSU QB Jameis Winston at 3-to-2.

Alabama has great group, but Gurley best back in SEC

Lane Kiffin recently lauded Alabama’s group of running backs, and as a whole, they are exceptional.

But the SEC’s best back resides at Georgia.

Not a shock.

Todd Gurley repeatedly has proven that he has the tools — receiving to blocking to hitting the holes to breakaway speed — and as long as he’s healthy, is the best in the SEC.

Alabama has turned out some pretty good tailbacks recently.

You know the names: Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Eddie Lacy.

It didn’t take new offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin long to proclaim that this year’s backfield is … let’s just say he thinks it’s pretty good.

“As you guys know extremely well, I think the offense is led by the tailbacks. … There probably aren’t three more talented tailbacks in the NFL on a roster than we’re fortunate to be able to work with at Alabama,” Kiffin said at a speaking engagement over the weekend.
